A loan of $400 helped to buy manure.

Elisa's story

Elisa, 37, is a very hardworking woman. She’s married to Germán, 41, and they have three children she wants to provide a good future for. They all live together in a house they were able to buy thanks to their daily efforts.

Elisa and her husband grow cocoa beans. They’ve been in this business 20 years improving more each time with new growing techniques and working from very early in the morning until sunset. She is in charge of taking their products to sell in their community’s gathering centers while Germán does the more physically demanding field work. To date, they are very happy with the results which is why they plan to expand their growing fields.

This is her MFP loan #5. She feels very grateful because thanks to it she’ll be able to reach her work goals. She is a very responsible member of her communal bank with respect to her payments; she sets an example for all the other members. She will use the money to buy manure to provide crop maintenance since she’s expecting her next harvest in August.
