Océan Plus Group's story

Loba, 43, is a leader of the community bank “OcéanPlus” group, which is composed of 20 micro-entrepreneurs united in solidarity to receive loans from Kiva through the MFI HOPE DRC with the goal of developing their businesses.

Loba runs a restaurant. She works in western Kinshasa. She makes the equivalent of $30 per day in profit. She has been a faithful client of Hope and her business has prospered. She is planning to use this loan to increase the stock of her restaurant by purchasing a box of salted fish. She is working very hard and would like to continue receiving Hope loans in order to achieve her dreams of modernizing her restaurant by using electrical appliances such as hot plates instead of charcoal.

Loba is 43 years old, married, and the mother of seven children, five of whom attend school.
