Sorry Heart Group's story

In the photo are members of the “Sorry Heart” group. They are small-scale businesswomen based in Koidu, a city in Eastern Sierra Leone. This is the first loan these entrepreneurs are accessing from SMT/Kiva. With this loan, they will be able to expand their businesses, earn more profits, and consequently improve their standard of living.

The leader of this group is Aminata. Aminata is 43 years old. She was born in Koidu city, where she currently resides with her husband and four children. Her husband is a house builder and her children attend primary and secondary school. For five years now, Aminata has been selling rice, cassava, potatoes, yams, etc. With this loan, she will buy rice, cassava, potatoes, yams, etc. at wholesale to add to her business.
