A loan of $850 helped a member to buy a ewe and 50 kilos of peanuts.

Khady's Group's story

This banc villageois was created on 28 December 2012 and has 57 members, all of whom live in the same town. Their main business is retail.

Ndiaya, who is standing with her hand raised in the photo, is a member of the banc villageois. She is 41 years of age, and is married. She has no children. Her main business is raising livestock, and as a secondary business she also makes oil from peanuts.

Ndiaya plans to use her loan to buy one ewe, which she will fatten and then resell in four or five months. She will also buy peanuts to turn into oil, which she will then sell. The profits she makes will allow her to provide for her family, as well as to expand her business by buying additional animals.

In this group: Khady, Ndiaya, Mane, Arame, Amy, Soda, Codou, Ndeye, Maguette
