Sophia's story

Sophia sells fanti kenkey (a fermented maize dough eaten as a traditional dish in Ghana) at Ayensudu near Elmina. She is married to a driver and has two children. Sophia has been selling fanti kenkey for some years now. She uses her income to support her husband in paying their utility and accommodation bills. Her loan will be used to buy bags of maize for the production of her kenkey to sell. She hopes to use the new profits to expand her business.
