A loan of $1,825 helped a member to buy sweets and toffees for her sweet shop business.

Elas' Group's story

Elas is 59 years old, married and the mother of a son. Her son is a painter by profession and paints houses and buildings. Her husband works in the Municipal Corporation while Elas runs a sweets and toffee shop from her home. She has applied for a loan from KIVA partner Asasah for further expansion of her business. With the loan proceeds, she will buy sweets and toffees in larger quantities to offer more to her community clients, who are mainly children, and to increase her sales and profits. Elas is very confident of the future success of her business after she invests the loan proceeds in it. Note: In the photo, the lady holding a book called "Asasah Passbook" is Elas.
