View original language description ↓

With much effort, in the municipality of Somotillo, Martha S. sells clothing with the sole purpose of accomplishing her dream of having a decent home where she can live with her family.

Over the course of the years, she and her husband have been making a strong effort to accomplish this goal. For this reason, after seeing the condition of the infrastructure of their home, they decided to invest in the purchase of construction materials to initiate the repairs to their home. After they did this, there was a time in which they had to stop the reconstruction due to lack of financial resources. Today, to continue with this project, she has turned to Ceprodel to receive a loan that will enable the purchase of construction materials to continue the pursuit of their dream of having a home that offers ideal living conditions.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
