A loan of $625 helped to repair the truck so her husband can continue transportation and sales of wood.

Natela's story

Natela is 54 years old. She lives in a small village of Khelvachauri District with her big family: her husband, David, four children (27, 29, 31 and 32 years old), two daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren.

The family members earn their living through an agricultural business. They have 0.5 hectare of land, where they grow vegetables and fruits. They also have a citrus garden and sell mandarins on the local open market. The family has beehives with bee colonies. They produce honey and sell it in nearby villages.

David also has a truck. He takes wood from the forest and sells it in his village and nearby villages. They work hard, but their income is hardly enough for food and everyday expenses for eleven members of the family.

Natela requested a loan to repair the truck because it is damaged and is already risky to drive in the forest. For this reason, David has stopped operations. After repairing the truck, David will be able to continue transportation and sales of wood. This will increase the sales. Increased income will enable them to improve the family’s living conditions.
