Solidarite Group's story

Lenge is the secretary of the Solidarité business group. She is married and has 6 young children. Her husband is a master builder. Lenge is a trader of clothing and other miscellaneous items. She is a street trader. She began her business with a loan from the microfinance institution Hekima. She is now requesting her 11th loan cycle. She needs this new loan in order to buy 20 pieces of traditional wrap-around cloth (known as "pagnes") for bargaining. The profits from her business enable her to pay her rent, school fees and to live comfortably in the city of Goma. In the future, she would like to buy a plot of land. For this, she would like to thank Hekima for its support and for the empowerment of female small business owners. It should be noted that one customer in the photo is with her baby.
