A loan of $1,100 helped to buy five calves.

Maria Ismaelda's story

María buys and sells cattle. She is 35, and lives with her husband and three children, ages 18, 10 and 7. They run the cattle business together in order to be able to get by and meet their household expenses. It was her husband who started the business, and they have been working in this way for five years.

She is applying for a loan to buy five calves that are still small. The opportunity has arisen for increasing their cattle herd, so this loan will be very important to them, as it will give them the financial resources to make the investment.

Her objective is for her and her family to do better, and for her business to prosper. She is increasing the number of cattle on her land, as this will give them greater potential to earn better profits in the future.
