A loan of $1,000 helped to cover the cost of buying a new vehicle.

Francisco Orlando's story

Francisco is 28 years old; he is married and he has three children who are 12, 8, and 5 years old, respectively. He has been lending his services at his two-chute mill for over ten years now. It is located in a small village about 50m from the main road that leads to a city. He renders his services to the people who live in that community and neighboring communities from 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. His wife manages that business, as Francisco also offers transportation services by making trips to a city in the west of the country three times a week to buy fruits and vegetables with the women who sell them. He plans his trips to the city when people request them two days in advance.

The loan Fundación Campo is requesting is to cover the cost to buy a vehicle because the one he has runs on gasoline and it uses a lot of fuel when he makes his trips. He wants to buy a different one and he has already negotiated for a diesel one that is more economical. They are selling it to him for $3,500 and he needs $1,000 to make the full payment.

After buying a diesel vehicle, his income will be greater because gas will be cheaper and it is a more efficient vehicle. This will allow them to save for future investments. His wish is to be able to buy land to build a home because their current home is rented.
