A loan of $3,950 helped a member to buy five bags of cornmeal for resale.

La Paix Virunga Group's story

Furaha is a dynamic entrepreneure and leader of the business group "La paix Virunga" (the Virunga Peace). She is a married mother of seven children. Her husband is currently unemployed.

Furaha sells maize flour (cornmeal) at the central market of Virunga. She has been engaged in this income-generating activity for about three years. She started her business with a loan from the Hekima MFI.

This new loan will allow her to buy five bags of cornmeal for resale. She plans to expand her business and support her children’s tuition.

Furaha thanks the Hekima MFI for helping poor people who do not have access to traditional banks.
