A loan of $1,150 helped to buy potato seeds and bags of fertilizer.

Angelica's story

Angélica is 24 years old. Her partner is Julio and the couple have two children: Harinson and Medaly. They live together in their own home, which they both built, in the small village of San Antonio, Tarma.

Angélica has been farming for 20 years, growing potatoes and flowers (gladioli). As the area in which she lives is very well known for its good soil and, therefore, its good crops, potato sellers come to her to negotiate for her harvests. The flowers, meanwhile, are transported to the flower market in the city where buyers come from different towns. Julio, her partner, is also very hard working. Thanks to the bulls that they raise, they are able to plow their land easily. In addition, they hire these animals out to other farmers for 90 soles a day which makes them additional income.

This is Angélica's fifth loan from MFP and she pledges, once again, to make her monthly repayments on time. She belongs to the 'Santa Rosa' community bank and says that she is one of the most punctual members in their meetings.

Angélica will invest this money in buying potato seeds and ten bags of fertilizer. She will also invest in preparing her land for her upcoming planting season.
