A loan of $800 helped to buy fertiliser and cattle.

Rosa Celia's story

Rosa belongs to "Unión Progresista" communal bank.
She lives in a community belonging to the parish of Santa Ana; The community's weather is cold, It is located 18km from the city of Cuenca. From the centre of this parish one can see a big portion of the city of Cuenca. Their main economic activities are agriculture, animal breeding and commerce, many people work in the city in different economic activities.

Rosa is 29, married and in her married life she has conceived 3 children who are 12, 10 and 8 years old. Her oldest child goes to high school and the two youngest go to a little primary school from the town. Her husband works in construction as a bricklayer. They live in their own house.

Rosa does all the chores in her house and works as a maid, she's been a maid for the last 5 years. She works Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm, the rest of her time she breeds farm animals like cattle and pigs. She also dabbles in agriculture and what she reaps is for the consumption of her homestead.

This is her third loan with the communal bank and she is going to invest it in the purchase of fertiliser for her paddocks and in cattle.

Her goal is to keep growing with her cattle breeding business.
