Sheyla Vanesa's story

Sheyla is 23 years old, and with her partner has a little one who is 2 years old, who she loves and adores greatly, and for whom she works hard every day to get ahead. Her home is located in the city of Ica.

The city of Ica is characterized by its hot climate and friendliness. In Ica we find one of the most well-visited tourist attractions, which is the "Laguna de Huacachina" (Lake Huacachina), located in the midst of marvelous dunes in which adventure sports can be practiced. In this city, there is a lot of agriculture, especially the cultivation of cotton, grapes, asparagus, and paprika, among others.

Sheyla, in her free time, really enjoys listening to music; more than anything else, it really relaxes her and makes her happy. She also likes to eats her favorite food, which is the delicious "Arroz con Pollo" (Chicken and Rice). Due to her economic condition, Sheyla only had a secondary school education, but she would have liked to study to be a good nurse.

With her characteristic charisma and her great desire to get ahead in life, Sheyla works very hard in her little business selling humitas (corn leaf wrapped corn dumplings), tamales (a cornmeal, meat, and sauce concoction), and chocotejas (chocolate covered candies), which are sweets and other traditional foods of our country. She works around 7 hours a day and can assist up to 15 customers each day. She also has a mototaxi, which she rents out, and with this gains an additional income to cover the expenses of her household. She believes that her business is going well because she uses great flavors and seasonings, and more than anything because she is friendly to her customers.

Sheyla is very thankful to the lenders at Kiva because thanks to the help they have given her, she will be able to do general maintenance, and buy doors for her mototaxi, and with this improvement she will have a more secure vehicle and she will also be able to buy some ingredients like corn, Panca peppers, and pork in bulk to prepare her dishes. This will help to increase her income, and she will be able to continue working and fighting to make her greatest dream a reality, "to have her own house and give her child a good education."
