A loan of $800 helped to buy fruits and sugar in order to make jams.

Maria Eugenia's story

María is 26 years old and has two children of the ages of 5 and 7 years old. She is a seller of berries and also berry jams at her sales point, located in the area of El Torno. This loan is her first with the institution. María will use her loan to buy more berries and sugar in bulk to create jams out of them, and her reason for asking for the loan is her lack of working capital. María faces challenges in her work which include getting out of poverty and using her gains to better her life and that of her family.

María is a young and hardworking single person who is trying to help her family move forward, and her wish is to in time have a shop where she can sell a variety of jams and jellies. She feels very glad for the institution and the opportunity they have given her and the offer of a loan.
