A loan of $1,750 helped to make some physical home improvements.

Zunilda's story

When Zunilda started her business her daughter helped out because her skills in computer science was of great help for her to launch in the market offering Internet access service, photocopying service, photograph transcriptions and telephone calls. She also took into account her surroundings in her neighborhood noting that she had no competition for there are no Internet cafés nearby which is why she set one up at home.

Noting that her business has grown she’s now decided to move it from home into a locale she owns which is part of her strategy to win over more customers. Her greatest challenge is to make the improvements to the locale so that her customers will have a comfortable environment but her capital is insufficient to reach this goal immediately.

This is why she’s calling on a Kiva loan, her first financing from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo that she’ll use to do the required physical changes having to do with enclosure and roofing thus attaining a better position. We at the Fundación believe that her Kiva loan will be successful because she’ll be located in a more comfortable spot that’s nevertheless near her present clientele with potential of capturing the interest of a wider customer base.
