A loan of $375 helped buy cereals to sell.

Zakaria's story

Zakaria is a resident of Changamwe, Kenya. He runs a retail shop which has been in operation for six months. His business is located in the area normally visited by truck drivers linking the two Kenyan cities. He is married. Zakaria received the startup capital for his shop from his savings and mainly sells cereals.

Zakaria joined Milango upon introduction by his friends and is applying for a loan of 31,450 Kenyan shillings to purchase additional stock of cereals. The only challenge in the business has been the high cost of retail stock and price fluctuations, but Zakaria believes this will be sorted since the harvesting season just began. Zakaria believes the business will grow and he will soon have a chain of businesses and increase his profits.
