A loan of $625 helped to cultivate and fertilize her agricultural land.

Eter's story

Eter is a 66-year-old widow. She lives alone in a small village of the Gurjaani district. Eter is busy with farming. She has a vineyard and a plot of land where maize is grown. She is especially busy in the spring and summer seasons in order to get a good harvest. She sells harvested grapes and maize on the local open market. Eter’s total average monthly income is 300 Lari. She works hard, but her income is hardly enough for food and for everyday expenses. She cannot make savings for purchasing additional needed household goods or renovation of the house.

Eter requested a loan for cultivation and fertilization of agricultural land. After properly done seasonal agricultural work, Eter hopes to get a larger and better quality harvest, which will be sold for a good price. This will increase her income. The increased income will be used to repair the house, because the existing one is old and uncomfortable. Taking into account the above-mentioned, Eter will be able to spend the winter in a warm house and won’t be afraid of snow and rain.
