Grace has been farming for 12 years in her rural home in Nyamira, where she stays with her husband and their two children. Her farm produces milk, tea, coffee and bananas, which she sells to the local market.
Grace has requested a loan of 40,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to construct a modern dairy unit in her farm. She hopes to gain more income and expand her business as well as educate her children. Her future plan is to buy more parcels of land to expand her farming. Grace says that lack of developed local markets and occasional droughts remain her major challenges.
