A loan of $1,575 helped a member to purchase rice, sugar, and pasta.

Socias Por Siempre Group's story

The "Socias Por Siempre" ("Members Forever") communal bank will start its second cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Los Andes regional office. It is comprised of seven members and is directed by a board, where Rosa is the Treasurer. The members of the association have a variety of businesses. Among them we have: upholstery, selling chuño (artisanal freeze-dried potato) and potatoes, weaving wool and macramé, food, grocery store, selling tires, sewing pants.

Patricia indicates that she joined Pro Mujer five years ago at the invitation of a promoter from the institution. Now she has a neighborhood store. She says that she started this business on her own initiative and that the loan the institution gave her helped her to expand her store.

The loan that she will now receive is for the expansion of her merchandise (purchase of rice, pasta, and sugar), which she will acquire at the warehouses in the city of El Alto and then sell in her store. This form of work allows her to generate resources to support her family as much as possible, since she is married and has two children.

When she is asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the loans, the health area, and the trainings.
