A loan of $3,250 helped a member to buy accessories and spare parts for her motorcycle.

Los Vecinos Group's story

The 'Los Vecinos' (Neighbors) community bank has nine members: seven women and two men. The bank's president is 24-year-old Maisa who is single. Maisa's business is providing a passenger transport service in the town of el Torno. She is a motorcycle taxi driver. This loan is her first from the institution. She will use the loan to buy accessories and spare parts for her motorcycle so that she can provide a better service to her customers and increase her profits. She is requesting this loan so that she can continue improving in her business. She will use her profits to continue buying spare parts and, if she is able, another motorcycle. Maisa is a very hard-working person. She feels happy with the opportunity that she and her fellow group members are being given as some of them support their families on their own.
