A loan of $975 helped to purchase bundles of cloth, sacks of coconuts, and two sewing machines.

Mariam's story

Mariam is taking out another loan to start another business. She is grateful for the previous loans as she says that she has been able to save and start this current business. She has started a tailoring business. However, she continues to sell cloth and coconuts from her home. She has a small cloth shop where she works hard every day.

She started in this line of work with a friend who taught her how to sew. Her cousin helps her at times in her daily work. She is requesting a loan of Ksh 80,000 to purchase bundles of cloth, sacks of coconuts, and two sewing machines. She thanks Kiva and Yehu for the opportunity she is receiving, because it will be a great help to her.
