A loan of $1,150 helped to buy fruit.

Karen's story

Karen, 25, lives in the city of Cañete in Imperial District with her parents and little 3-year-old son. Karen is a very cheerful, hardworking, enthusiastic person who puts all her efforts into raising her son. Unfortunately, because she had to go to work to cover her expenses she was unable to study a professional career but would very much have liked to do so.

Thanks to her parents’ support Karen started her business selling avocadoes two years ago in her city’s fruit market. On occasion she also sells other various fruits. She’s very happy doing her work because her parents taught her this occupation when she was still a little girl.

Karen is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they’ve given her she will be able to buy fruit to sell, especially large amounts of apples since their sale season is approaching. In this way Karen will be able to increase sales and income that she hopes to use to expand the business and to have a larger locale so that in the not too distant future she will be able to have her own house and reach her great dream of insuring her little boy’s future and wellbeing.
