Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $750 helped a member to buy more animals to increase her stock.

Sara's Hiari Ya Moyo Group's story

Sara is 50 years old and is married with 5 children, ages 7 to 18 years old. She and her husband also take care of two other children. Sara owns a small animal stock, a business she started in 1998. Every day, she works from 7am to 6pm at her business, and can earn a monthly profit of about $60 from her sales.

She now hopes for a loan to buy more animals to increase her stock. She will share this loan with her subgroup members Elizabeth, Zabira, Pudensia, and Monica, who have businesses dealing in fruits sales.
