Iringa Group's story

Soka, who is his early 30s, is married with one small child. He has been selling local chicken since 2006. He works from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily and is able to make a very good monthly profit. This will be his sixth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy a plot, build a moderate house in the village, marry a wife, buy five cows, and cover household expenses. He has paid back all his loans successfully. He wants a loan to buy more local chicken to resell. His dream is to one day be able to have a house in Dar. Soka will share this loan with his loan group, Iringa, which has a total of 15 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
