A loan of $925 helped to buy fertilizers, insecticides and fungicides to revive her crops and deal with the difficult weather conditions.

Luz Amparo's story

Luz Amparo is married and has two children who are 9 and 11 years old. As the income her husband makes is not enough to cover their household expenses, five years ago she decided to start her own business growing coffee in order to make income and contribute financially to the household. Thanks to her efforts she is now an important coffee grower and is known for the very good quality of her produce. In addition, her family's financial situation has improved considerably, allowing her two children and husband to enjoy a better quality of life. The great difficulty she faces right now is that the weather has damaged her crops and she lacks the capital she needs to re-fertilize them. For this reason, she is looking for a loan which will allow her to buy fertilizers, insecticides and fungicides to revive her crops and deal with the difficult weather conditions. This will enable her to grow good-quality crops and make income for her household so that her children can continue receiving a good education and enjoy better financial opportunities to make progress.
