A loan of $800 helped to buy a harvester.

Julia's story

Julia is married and has four children who are school age; they live in a house of their own occupying four small rooms with adobe walls and dirt floors located in Viacha in La Paz Department. She only went to elementary school and currently works more than ten hours in farming producing cheese and milk that she subsequently sells to cover family food and education costs. With the little she earns she does not have enough to buy a harvester.

She’s asking for the loan to buy a harvester that will make harvesting alfalfa which is the feed for her cows that produce the milk to make the cheese easier. Currently Julia uses a sickle to harvest but it is exhausting because she has to bend down all the time; the harvester will make things much easier.

Julia’s dream is to improve her income so that she can pay for her children’s university education. This is the first time she’s requested credit from IMPRO and KIVA.
