Shamiykul's story

Shamiykul is 59 years old, a widow and has five children. During the time of the Soviet Union, she worked as a milkmaid at a collective farm and, to provide an additional source of income for her family, became involved in animal husbandry 22 years ago, having started this business with a sum of 8,000 som. Thanks to Shamiykul's hard work, today her business contains nine cows with offspring and nineteen sheep, and the sales of milk yield about 15,000 som per month. In order to further develop her business, Shamiykul requested a loan in the amount of 100,000 som (KGS) from the "Bai-Tushum and Partners" company to buy additional livestock. She plans to invest part of the earnings from the loan into building a house for her son, who has limited means.
