A loan of $400 helped buy natural fertilizers.

Nilda's story

Nilda, 28, is married to Victor, with whom she has a child, José Manuel. They live in a house they’re looking after for her sister-in-law, who is far from the city.

She is anxious for the weekend, when she’ll get her things in order to move to the annex where she can see her plots of agricultural land, take care of her plants and most of all, breathe in the fresh air of the country. Monday to Friday she lives in the city and takes care of her child who studies there. Her principal economic activity for the last 10 years is agriculture. She has been a member of the Communal Bank for a long time now, has always invested her money wisely back then when in that time she decided to help her husband, who is a bricklayer, with the household expenses. In each harvest that she has, she makes considerable financial gains, which vary with the price of the market. “There exist times when I make favourable financial gains and other times no”, Nilda affirms. For that reason, her objective is to always have lots of quantities of product so her income will always be stable.

This is her 12th loan with MFP and she is grateful for the support she’s been given, as in all of this time she’s been able to increase her earnings and improve her business. That’s why she promises to be punctual in her payments.

Nilda will invest the loan into buying natural fertilizers to spread between her potato and pea plants.
