A loan of $10,000 helped to pay for increasing care service to children with special needs.

Alexei's story

Alexei has always worked with children with special needs. He grew up with a sibling who had limited vision and speech, as well as other delays. When Alexei came to the US from Cuba on his own, he came with a dream of building a rehabilitation clinic for children with special needs. He wanted to continue to give back. He worked for almost two years saving up funds so he could begin his business. His business, D & D Rehabilitation Center, works with special needs children in occupational, speech, and physical therapy. The first few months of owning the business were difficult for Alexei and his employees, as they had almost 90 children in the Southern Florida region sign up for their services. Alexei had not planned on such high demand. His facilities were anticipating 50 children.

Alexei quickly realized that he needed more money to be able to provide for the 90 children that were seeking his assistance. This loan will help with working capital as they expand their services to meet the need, and can help the growth of more children with special needs. Alexei loves working with his children and their growth is what drives him forward and puts a smile on his face daily.
