A loan of $1,950 helped a member to stock seasonal footwear.

Campeonas Group's story

The Campeonas ("Champions") group, affiliated with Credituyo, consists of seven women. All are neighbors, and most of them are traders. They all dream of having a well-established business, but they all have few resources, and practically none of them have any education. This is why they work selling food, clothing, and shoes.

Bertha is one of the group's members. She is 52 and has five children, who are 37,34,28,23 and 24. All her children are married. She will use her loan to buy seasonal footwear.

Bertha's dream is to be able to have a shoe store in the center of her city. At the moment, she sells from home, and it is very complicated for her clients because she lives on a hill, and since automobiles cannot climb it, her clients have to walk up. When it rains, it is even worse.

Bertha would like her children to work with her and for her children and grandchildren to inherit the business.

In this group: Bertha, Catalina, Claudia, Francisca, Graciela, M Ascencion, Nidia Margarita
