Claudia Cristina's story

Claudia is a 37-year-old woman who is happily married and lives in the city of Nazca with her husband and their three children. She is a very happy, enthusiastic, and hardworking person who devotes all her effort, along with that of her husband, to getting their family ahead. Regrettably, from a very young age she had to work to settle her expenses and support her parents. For this reason she couldn't complete her elementary school studies. Still, Claudia dreams about being able to do this one day. In her free time she likes to watch TV with her children and on occasion she cooks the delicious dish, Seco de Res (Cilantro Beef Stew), to share with her family.

By her own initiative and thanks to the support of her family, Claudia began her small business selling kebabs several years ago. She performs her work as a street vendor. From the early morning hours she begins to prepare the diverse dishes so that when she begins her sales in the evenings, everything is ready and her customers can taste her delicious kebabs, intestines, tripe, and cow lungs, among other items. Claudia feels happy with her work and believes that her business is going well due to her customers recommending her for her food's excellent flavor and her good service.

Claudia is very thankful along with Kiva borrowers since thanks to the help given she will be able to carry out the construction of her home made of adobe. Currently her small home is made of mats. In this way Claudia will be able to have a home that's in better condition, giving safety and comfort to her family. In the not-too-distant future she hopes to be able to have her own restaurant to continue growing and going out with her family.
