A loan of $400 helped to buy bunches of plantains and sacks of cassava and cocoyam wholesale.

Benedicte Jeanne's story

Jeanne is a 54-year-old married woman. She has four children and another two other people in her care. She has been working as a trader in a market in the capital for four years. Her business is selling fresh food (cocoyam, cassava, couscous). Jeanne would like to buy bunches of plantains and sacks of cocoyam and cassava in bulk. She will buy them in the country and re-sell them from different sales locations. However, her capital is low and will not allow her to do this. For this reason, she needs a loan to strengthen her business. This will increase her capital, her sales and her profits. She will save the profits that she makes in order to buy a motorcycle which will allow her to make home deliveries.
