A loan of $1,000 helped to buy phone cards and GSM units (credit) transfer chips.

Jimmy's story

Jimmy is a married man and the father of five children. He is fifty-seven years old. Two of his children are attending the university. Jimmy sells phone cards, polythene bags, washing soaps, etc.

Many people in his community use mobile phones, but they are not able to buy units (credit). Therefore, he wants to use his loan to buy credit transfer chips to enable him to sell credit in smaller and cheaper units to mobile phone users. He wants to use the profit from his increased business to support his children, who are currently in the university.

Jimmy is a member of the group called "Anointed." Members agree in principle to guarantee for each other as social collateral to repay the loan.
