A loan of $200 helped to buy merchandise (cookies, chocolates, candies, soda, etc.).

Anabel Viviana's story

Anabel is 40 years old and lives in Santiago district, Ica, Peru. Santiago district is known for its agriculture, especially its cotton, grape, asparagus and bean growing. Whenever she has any free time, Anabel really enjoys spending time with her family as she is the mother of four children who are 14, 11, 9 and 3 years old. She loves them dearly and works hard to provide for them and ensure they have a decent life. Above all, she gives them a lot of love and affection. Owing to her limited financial resources, Anabel was only able to study up to the third year of her secondary education but she would have liked to have gone on to become a teacher.

Anabel works every day in her small business selling candies outside the schools in her district. She works around 8 hours a day and can serve up to 20 customers a day. Her main customers are children. They are the ones who buy most of her products. She believes that her business is doing well because she has a lot of patience with the children and treats them kindly.

Anabel is very grateful to Kiva lenders because, thanks to their help, she will be able to buy merchandise for her business such as cookies, chocolates, candies, soda, etc. She will have a greater variety of products and will be able to improve her income and continue working every day to fulfill her biggest dream: to own her own home.
