A loan of $950 helped to buy honey.

Rosa Elvira's story

Rosa is a member of Las Fresitas Communal Bank in the district of Calleria in the department of Ucayali. She is 54 years old and married. She works selling home remedies, which she sells here in addition to taking them to the city of Lima where her products are in demand because it is winter. She has been getting loans from Manuela Ramos for four years.

With her new loan for 2,500 nuevos soles [PEN] she will buy three dozen farm eggs, two bottles of aged wine, three liters of pure honey, one kilo of local lemons, one kilo of ginger, and three kilos of bark.

Her husband is the person who prepares the remedies. He also is the one who goes to sell the products, so he can explain the properties of each product to the customers. She is very punctual with her payments and wants to continue working longer. She thanks Manuela Ramos for all the loans she has been granted thus far.
