A loan of $525 helped to buy farm supplies.

Maria Natividad's story

María, 35, is married and has six children; she lives in a village in Intibucá Municipality, La Esperanza.

María has an activity that generates income necessary for household expenses. She works in agriculture, specifically growing potatoes. She worked alongside her family since she was little and set up her own parcel five years ago. The zone she lives in is apt for agriculture, in this case for potatoes. She dedicates most of her time to it and supports her family with household expenses. She sells her crops in the local market.

This is her first, 10,000 lempira, loan that she’s going to use to buy supplies for her potato crops; she will buy fertilizer and fungicide to improve production levels. Her goal is to use the help ODEF has given her to provide good crop maintenance thus improving her family’s standard of living.
