A loan of $400 helped to buy motor oil, spark plugs and other parts for her moto-taxi.

Karla Rosita's story

Karla is a member of the communal bank "Las Fresitas," located in the Yarinacocha district in the department of Ucayali. She is 22 years old, married, and has a child.

She has been working with the Manuela Ramos organization for 2 years. She has a moto-car that she rents out which provides her with a daily income.

With her new loan of 1,000 Peruvian soles, she will buy: a battery, a belt drive, a spark plug, 6 flashing light bulbs, a spare tire, an inner tube, 2 liters of motor oil, and a box of wax.

With her small income, she can gather together the funds to do maintenance on her moto and make her monthly payments to Manuela Ramos. She wants to stay on good terms with the other members of her communal bank, who are careful not to let their bank's payments to fall into arrears. Her husband works in construction.
