A loan of $500 helped to buy sacks of potatoes.

Dora's story

Dora is a member of the communal bank "Fruto Bendito" in the Manantay District, department of Ucayali. She is 62, married and has two children, one of whom still lives at home.

For three years she has been working with Manuela Ramos and selling potatoes. She buys sacks of potatoes and then sells them by the kilo to stores in the area. Her husband is a bricklayer.

With the new loan in the amount of 1,300 PEN, she will buy five sacks of potatoes, a scale, and pay for vehicle rental to transport her product.

She is very happy because now she has extra income for her household and can help her husband with their son's education costs. She is grateful to Manuela for the loans she receives whenever she needs one, and hopes to continue working as long as her health permits.
