A loan of $1,150 helped to buy rice, sugar, and other products for her store.

Maritza's story

Sra. Maritza is a member of the Communal Bank “Fruto Bendito” in the District of Manantay in the Department of Ucayali. She is 48 years old and has four children, but only one is under her care.

Maritza has worked with Manuela Ramos for three years. She has a small store in her house. Her business is restocked every time she receives a loan. Her son helps with looking after the store whenever she is busy with the household chores.

With this new loan of 3,000 PEN she will buy one sack of sugar, one sack of rice, one case of oil, one case of milk, one packet of detergent, one case of small milk cans, one case of mayonnaise, one packet of salt, one case of cleaning products, five packets of toilet paper, ½ dozen containers of malt powder, one strip of hair rinse packets, three kilos of dried vegetables, one kilo of freeze-dried potatoes, one packet of flour, six crates of eggs, and ½ case of preserves.

Maritza hopes that Manuela Ramos will continue facilitating loans so that she can continue to grow her business and improve her household finances. In this manner she hopes to help her husband, who operates a locksmith shop.
