Musu's story

This is 37-year-old Musu from the town of Kandeh in Bo, located in the southern area of Sierra Leone. She is married with three children between the ages of 9 and 16 years, all currently attending school. She also has two relatives at home.

Musu runs a general merchandise store selling dishes, soft drinks, dresses, shoes and bags. She has been running this business for 10 years, working 10 hours per day, 7 days per week. Musu also earns income from small-scale farming in the village. She says that the main challenges to her business are transportation costs and inflation.

Musu has requested a loan of Le 5,000,000 through BRAC in order to buy more general stock such as dishes, soft drinks, dresses, shoes and bags. The extra income from this loan will allow her to renovate her rental house and educate her children. In the future, she plans to own a big house. Musu appreciates your support.
