Aged 32 years old, Sitha is a mother of one dependent son and lives in the Kandal Stoeng district of Kandal Province. She is a farmer and a tailor. She has been involved in these businesses for 10 years and can earn up to US $5 per day.
Sitha took her first loan with VisionFund in 2011 and has successfully repaid the entire loan already. The past loan helped her to improve her living conditions, especially in having a proper shelter. She is now applying for new loan with VisionFund to buy a cow for the purposes of plowing her farmland and crossbreeding. She hopes to receive a better crop yield and have a lot of calves for her farm as well as for sale.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
