A loan of $1,150 helped to buy accessories for his car such as mirrors, headlamps, tires, etc.

Alejandro Carlos's story

Alejandro is a 28-year-old man who lives in the city of Ica, in Santiago district, with his partner and young children who are 6 and 2 years old. He is a very cheerful, enthusiastic and hard-working person who, together with his wife, puts all his efforts into providing for their family. Thanks to his parents' support, Alejandro was able to study for a technical degree in auto mechanics. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer with his friends and neighbors. He also sometimes cooks delicious 'tallarines verdes' (green pesto noodles) to share with his family.

Through his own initiative and with his partner's support, Alejandro set up a small car wash business. He works approximately 10 hours a day and can serve an average of 15 customers. In addition, he also has his own care which he hires out to other drivers to work in. He believes that his business is doing well owing to the good service he provides and the kind, respectful way he treats his customers.

Alejandro is very grateful to Kiva lenders because, thanks to their help, he will be able to buy accessories for his car such as mirrors, headlamps, tires, etc. This will allow him to keep the car in better condition so that he can continue hiring it out. With this additional income, he hopes to be able to save up the money he needs to buy his own premises so that he can have an auto repair shop alongside his car wash business. This will enable him to guarantee he young children's future and well-being.
