Niagnegueton 6 Group's story

The ten members of the "Niagnegueton 6" group are married women, on average 32 years old with four children, and all live in traditional households in Sincina Sesso, one of the towns in Koutiala, the 3rd administrative region of Mali.
They work with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to run their farms well during the rainy season.
They are on their seventh loan with the institution, and the previous loans were repaid properly.
Adiaratou, standing second from the left in the photo, grows beans.
With her loan, she intends to buy agricultural inputs, seeds, and small farming equipment, and to pay for labour costs to maintain 2 hectares.
The produce will be sold in the town and at the market in Koutiala after the harvest to a clientele composed of men and women.
She intends to realize an average profit of 310,000 FCFA at the end of the cycle.
This profit will allow her to repay her loan and also help her husband with the daily expenses.
