Edgar Paul's story

Edgar is a man who lives in Latacunga, a city located in the midst of the Ecuadorian mountains. Latacunga is the capital of the province of Cotopaxi, named after the highest active volcano in the world, which is in the northeast of the province. The Cotopaxi volcano has left Latacunga in ruins three times since its founding. The city is 2,750 meters above sea level and the average temperature is about 11°C. It is characterized by it architectural and cultural riches since it have been possible to preserve its colonial appearance. Latacanga is an excellent example of national folklore.

Edgar is a bachelor who opened a mini-market two years ago in front of some sports fields. He learned the business from his mother and now dreams about his own mini-market getting ahead. He devotes 6 hours a day to his business. He is requesting a loan from Kiva to be able to expand the quantity of products he sells and to start selling new merchandise altogether.

Edgar is ambitious and wants to succeed and has high expectations for his minimarket and for himself. Consequently, he wants to enlarge his business and earn enough income to continue his studies at college.
