Ismail's story

Ismail is a married man and is 41 years old. He has six children in addition to one dependent.

Ismail repairs bicycles in the outskirts of Kabura-Kooki, a surburb in Lyantonde. He has been doing this since 2007 and has been able to build himself a house and educate his children. His main clients are the inhabitants of the area where he operates from, and they are predominantly carriers. Because bicycles are their main method of transportation while ferrying milk into town, Ismail has a ready market.

His main challenge is not having enough money to buy spare parts, which are rather expensive.

He hopes to start buying bicycles to sell if he gets enough money.

Ismail is a very hardworking man. In the photo is Ismail at his business, and the other people in the photo consented to have their picture taken.
