Goderdzi's story

Goderdzi is 46 years old. He lives in a small village in Zestaponi District with his family: his wife, Lela, and two children (aged 14 and 15). Both of their children go to the local school. Goderdzi and Lela earn their living through an agricultural business. In particular, they have livestock with four cows, a calf, two bulls and two pigs. They are very hard-working people who take good care of their livestock. They milk their cows twice a day and produce dairy food: cheese, curds and yogurt. They sell the dairy foods that they produce in nearby villages. The family also owns 0.9 hectare of land, where nut-trees are grown. They sell the nuts in the Zestaponi market. In addition to his agricultural business, Goderdzi works in construction and earns additional income for the family. The total average monthly income of the family is 600 Lari. Goderdzi has requested a loan to purchase a milking cow so he can expand his dairy farm. With five milking cows, Goderdzi and Lela will be able to get more milk and produce more dairy foods. This will increase the sales from their business. With increased profits, they will be able to reinvest in the family's agricultural business.
