Maria Anita's story

María Anita, 33, is a mother living with her husband and three children in a settlement in the agricultural district of Tambogrande in northern Peru. She sells beer and soft-drinks in a locale she set up at home. Her main customers are people who live in her settlement. She also has barnyard fowl she sells once they reach ideal weight. Income from these activities is used to support her family’s economy.

She wants to expand the business acquiring more beverages and she also believes that there is great potential in consolidating her barnyard fowl business. Therefore, María Anita is asking Edpyme Alternativa for a loan with Kiva’s help to buy more beverages and animal feed. María Anita took out a previous loan with this institution and was very punctual in addition to its helping her business enormously.
