A loan of $850 helped buy ingredients to make food for sale and feed for her chickens.

Viterba's story

Viterba is a 46-year-old woman living with her husband and children in a rural area in the Tambogrande district in Northern Peru. She is an entrepreneur who is now looking to take her second loan with Edpyme Alternativa with the support of Kiva, following a successful and punctual repayment of credit last year.

Viterba has established a small stand selling 'salchipollo' (hot dogs with french fries and fried chicken) during the weekend, while taking care of raising poultry during the week. On the back of the success of her food stand and the needs of her poultry, she is now looking for a credit of 2200 soles to buy animal feed and supplies for her delicious 'salchipollo'. As she continues to establish a good reputation for her food, this loan is sure to help her continue expanding her client base and consolidating her business.
